During this year's 4th City-Water-Quality of Life Congress, held in Wroclaw, awards were, as usual, granted to the best Polish cities in terms of water resource management efficiency. The awards are made on the basis of an annual report, which is not only a valuable source of information for local authorities, scientists, experts and residents, but also aims to mobilise the joint development of standards for more efficient and effective urban water management.

This year, the authors of the report analysed more than 200 Polish towns and cities, assessed in terms of the four most important areas of water management:
life (drinking water, domestic water, infrastructure maintenance);
hazards (flooding, drought, sectoral hazards, rainwater, local government activities);
economy and business (water for industry, business attractiveness, water transport);
culture and residents (coastline, blue and green infrastructure, harmonious urban space).
